WALT: to know what happens when we don’t look after our oceans.
On Tuesday we had visitors. Alice & and Grace, who work for the Blake foundation. They let us put on the VR headset and look at what a healthy and unhealthy sea looks like.
I learnt that the kina eats all of the seaweed and then the fish have no food to eat. I also found out that the sea sponge is yellow and it suckes in 95% bacteria and particles from the water and 90% of dissolved organic Carbon Dioxide.
We also swam with dolphins, whales, sharks, stingrays, and other types of sea creatures.
My favorite part was swimming with the dolphins. The most exciting part, but also scary, was when the stingray came up to the camera and saw its reflection swimming into the camera. He got a fright then quickly swam away.
