WALT: to know what happens when we don’t look after our oceans.

On Tuesday we had visitors. Alice & and Grace, who work for the Blake foundation. They let us put on the VR headset and look at what a healthy and unhealthy sea looks like.

I learnt that the kina eats all of the seaweed and then the fish have no food to eat. I also found out that the sea sponge is yellow and it suckes in 95% bacteria and particles from the water and 90% of dissolved organic Carbon Dioxide.

We also swam with dolphins, whales, sharks, stingrays, and other types of sea creatures.

My favorite part was swimming with the dolphins. The most exciting part, but also scary, was when the stingray came up to the camera and saw its reflection swimming into the camera. He got a fright then quickly swam away.

Why I choose this design

Walt: We are learning to follow the design process.

 Why I choose this design

I chose this design because it has the side boxes and if

you want to plant any more plants then you can plant

them in there. They are really helpful. I like how I

did the carrots. The carrots are probably in the best place

and on the bottom. My design gets a lot of sunlight

because it is open at the front. My plants can get

a lot of water because it doesn't have a shelter. That

is why I choose this design.

Equipment List

X 4 Boxes

X 12 Carrots

X 2 Board

X 1  pack of nails

X 1 hammer

X timber holders

X wooden planks

X 14 blueberries

X 4 lime

X 20 buckets

                 My pallet garden reflection

My favorite part was building my prototype. I burnt

myself ten times. I liked building the spare boxes on the

side and I think the pom poms were easy to glue on.

What I found challenging was writing my reflection

because it took me time and effort until I got to the blog.

I should've tried my best to check my work before I went

up to the teacher.

Question:
What is your favourite thing bout making gardens?

He aha te kupu Maori

Walt: We are learning new words  in Te Reo Maori.

Refection: My favourite part was finishing all my sides because I knew I had done some hard word. The Hardest part was the Te Reo Maori because I don`t know much Maori. The easy part was the English because I know more English than Maori.

Question: What can you say in Te Reo Maori?

Monday, September 14, 2020

Walt: We are learning to quickly calculate number problems.

My goal next time is to reach 100% in  9 mins and 25 second.

Refection: What I found easy was + - And what I found hard was divided because I haven`t been practising. My favourite part was my certificate because I got 95% on stage 5 in 9 mins and 36 seconds.

Questions: Do you think I did beater this time.
